HMX Xinhai – Linear Switches with Smooth Sound and Uniform Lubrication
The HMX Xinhai switch, designed by HC Studio and manufactured by HMX, stands apart from other switches in this range through the use of innovative materials and an advanced lubrication technique. It delivers a fluid typing experience with a distinct sound, suitable for those who prefer lighter presses as well as users who want firmer feedback.
Premium Materials for a Distinct Acoustic Profile
- Upper Housing: PA12 – a softer material than PA66 or PA2, which reduces the clarity and intensity of the top-out sound, producing a more delicate tone.
- Lower Housing: Modified nylon, a standard HMX material optimized for a full, balanced sound.
- Stem: POM, delivering a crisp, higher-pitched bottom-out compared to switches that use denser materials like POK.
The same housing materials are also used in the HMX Macchiato, but the key difference between the two switches lies in the stem material:
- Macchiato: POK stem, offering a more thocky, deep, resonant sound.
- Xinhai: POM stem, producing a crisper, higher-pitched bottom-out sound.
Optimized Factory Lubrication
HMX Xinhai benefits from a unique lubrication method that involves:
- A more generous application of lubricant on the spring and metal contact (leaf spring).
- Uniform distribution of lubricant for a smooth, consistent switch response.
